If you want the happiest and healthiest horse possible, come board with us at Starfire Equestrian Center.  Our horses get 24 hour turnout unless weather is severe.  They are brought in twice per day for their feeding and immediatly turned back out.  They have plenty of pasture plus free-choice hay.    We use hay boxes with grates over the top to promote gradual feeding; much like the way they would graze in the wild.  Our hay boxes always have hay available, but will not allow the horse to eat too much at one time, thus providing the best chance possible for healthy digestion (prevention of colic).
